The Business Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This individual is responsible for understanding business requirements, analyzing processes, and designing technology solutions that align with organizational goals. The BSA collaborates with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical experts to ensure the successful delivery of software projects and system enhancements.
Responsibilities:
- Define the problem and scope of existing system.
- Confirm project feasibility and produce the project Schedule.
- Gather, analyze, and validate the requirement information.
- Define the requirements and prototypes for new system.
- Evaluate the alternatives and prioritize the requirements.
- Prepared the SRS/DDS document into logical structure, which contains detailed and complete set of specifications that can be implemented in a programming language.
- Create a contingency, training, maintenance, and operation plan.
- Review the proposed design. Ensure that the final design must meet the requirements stated in SRS document.
- Combine all the modules together into training environment that detects errors and defects.
- A test report which contains errors is prepared through test plan that includes test related tasks such as test case generation, testing criteria, and resource allocation for testing.
- Integrate the information system into its environment and install the new system.
- Collaborate with the App Support team to receive and address reported issues.
- Conduct thorough investigations to identify the root causes of issues, utilizing program exploration and data querying techniques.
- Provide preliminary issue resolution by directly manipulating the database to create effective workarounds for customers.
- Summarize identified causes and communicate them to the development team for further resolution.
- Maintain a close watch on ongoing issues being addressed by the development team.
- Develop strategic plans and approaches for efficiently resolving identified issues.
- Monitor and control Service Level Agreements (SLA), ensuring timely and effective issue resolutions and communicating expected completion timelines to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role, preferably in Agile/Scrum software development or IT projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business processes and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in creating visualizations, process flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with software architecture concepts and an understanding of technical systems.
- Experience with requirement management tools and software, such as JIRA or Confluence.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
